Welcome! I started Liberty Automation in 2014 to provide a better automation and controls experience. For over 25 years, I have worked both sides of the fence – as a plant engineer requiring engineering services and as an engineer and integrator. In that time, my experience has been that too often Control Engineers are like Beta fish. You cannot keep two of them on the same project and expect good results. While everyone has their preferred methods, more often than not, many Control Engineers will criticize someone else’s work, and recommend to completely rewrite software or scrap designs and software – simply because they do not like the style. Another thing I have often seen are controls engineers who have a one size fits all approach to projects. This causes either massively inflated costs or provides too little project management and engineering. My goal is to provide quality services that adds substantial value. Whether your company prefers hardwired selector switches and motor buckets or integrated panels with PACs, I will work with your team to ensure the solution fits your needs. Feel free to review this site, and if you believe I can add value to your project, please contact me.
In 2019 I was recognized as a Certified Automation Professional (CAP) from the International Society of Automation (ISA). Involving a CAP helps ensure all facets of a controls project are accounted for, managed, and designed professionally. Below is a summary of what the certification represents from ISA:
“ISA CAP certification provides a non-biased, third-party, objective assessment and confirmation of an automation professional’s skills – specifically, the CAP exam is focused on direction, definition, design, development/application, deployment, documentation, and support of systems, software, and equipment used in control systems, manufacturing information systems, systems integration, and operational consulting. The CAP certification exam reflects the documented knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for competent job performance.”
